Holy smokes, I am so excited to share this wedding with you all! Kevin and Maya have one of my favorite love stories-it’s right out of a fairy tale! They met five years ago when Kevin was giving a presentation in a classroom where Maya was a graduate assistant. They hit it off immediately and things moved quickly {though you might be saying it’s been 5 years, how quick could it be?! Just be patient people! I’m getting there!}

They spent the next couple days getting to know each other and Kevin invited Maya to celebrate his birthday with his friends and family in Chicago. Maya was leaving to travel Europe after graduation and joked that the only way he’d see her again soon is if he met her Copenhagen, WHICH HE DID! It’s a love story that writes itself at this point.

They continued their relationship long distance, with Maya living in Chicago and Kevin in New York. They saw each other every chance they had. And then their distance grew again when Maya moved to Dublin for work. With back and forth trips they did the impossible and nurtured a relationship across the ocean. Finally, in 2020, they were able to be in the same time zone when Kevin moved to Chicago to be with Maya permanently {much to the delight of his family and friends who weren’t sure he’d ever move back home!}.

I remember taking their engagement pictures and telling my husband afterwards that it felt like they’d already loved each other for a lifetime. Being in their presence is like a force field of adoration and affection and respect.

It was my absolute honor to document what I’m sure will be a love legacy for the ages. I can’t begin to tell you how much I adore you both and I hope our paths cross again.
