I’ve said this so many times this year, but the most beautiful thing to come out of all the changes to weddings has been this incredible intimacy surrounding the day. Mike and Erin’s wedding day was no exception.
Erin was walked down the aisle by her two loving and supportive brothers and stood up beside her sisters. It’s heartbreaking for me as a mother to two daughters to say that Erin lost her mom at a young age, but I can’t imagine anything more comforting than knowing that her siblings stepped in to uplift her with love in light of that absence. She was also gifted with an incredible pendant to adorn her bouquet with a joyous image of her mom. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that I could feel her presence surrounding us.
Mike and Erin have the sweetest relationship and it’s been such an honor for me to be around them on their journey to marriage. They lean on each other for support and find joy in the little things. They’ve been through a lot this year and through it all, they couldn’t wait to be husband and wife. It was as if the whole world could melt away and they would still have what they needed and I find such beauty in that kind of love.
Mike and Erin,
Thank you for trusting me to document your day and for allowing me to adapt and pivot as your plans changed. It meant so much to me to meet your families and celebrate with you. You have an incredible future ahead of you and I hope to be invited back in again some day!
